insure.ug lets you buy motor third party insurance for a vehicle in Uganda. The cover is issued by MUA Insurance (Uganda) Ltd. The site is operated by Draft: operator legal name and registered address.
Draft: the relationship between the site operator and the insurer, and who is responsible for what
The cover
- It is motor third party cover for 12 months from the day it is issued.
- It covers injury to, or death of, other people caused by the vehicle, up to UGX 1,000,000 per person and UGX 10,000,000 for one accident.
- It does not cover damage to your own vehicle, damage to other people's property, or theft or fire.
The insurer's own policy terms apply to the cover. Draft: link to the insurer's policy wording
Buying cover
- You can buy cover for any vehicle by its number plate, including a vehicle that belongs to someone else.
- You are responsible for checking that the plate and the vehicle details shown before you pay are correct.
- The premium shown before you pay is the amount charged.
- You pay by MTN MoMo or Airtel Money. A payment prompt is sent to the number you enter, so use only a number you are allowed to use.
- If the vehicle already has active cover, we show you the existing sticker reference and do not take a second payment.
Your sticker
After you pay, keep the page open. The sticker and its reference appear on the page once the insurer's system confirms the payment, which is usually within seconds. If you gave an email address, a copy is sent there.
If money leaves your account and no sticker appears, keep your Mobile Money confirmation message and contact us on 0200 411 300 or WhatsApp 0707 888 381. We will check the payment with the insurer's system.
Refunds and cancellation

Using the site
- Do not enter another person's Mobile Money number without their permission.
- Do not use the site to send repeated payment prompts, to test plates in bulk, or to interfere with its operation.
- The site depends on the insurer's and the mobile network operators' systems, so it may be slow or unavailable at times.
